Alessandro Solbiati, as composer Tutor of the Course in 2021:
• will hold a Lectio Magistralis on 8 September,
• a ‘music lesson’ open to the public on 9 September,
• will attend the rehearsals of his piece from 9 September.
Divertimento Ensemble will provide the students accepted to the Course with the scores of all the compositions.
HOW TO PRESENT THE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Any conductors interested in applying, who were born after 5 September 1986, must submit the application for admission, available at the following page, by 30 April 2021:
The application should include:
• a link to any recordings (if available);
• a curriculum vitae
• a copy of the applicant’s identity document.
Using the admission application form, it is possible to pay the admission fee of €30, which is refundable solely in the event that the Course does not take place.
HOW THE SELECTION IS MADE
By the 7 May 2021, a commission consisting of four musicians from Divertimento Ensemble and the conductor Sandro Gorli will select the 10 conductors accepted from the admission applications received.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO PARTICIPATE AS OBSERVER?
It is possible to attend the Course as observer upon payment of the participation fee, indicated below.
All the productions of the Course can also be attended “remotely” on the website idea.divertimentoensemble.it on the dedicated page.

HOW TO COMPLETE ADMISSION
The accepted conductors and the spectators must complete their applications by paying the balance of their participation fees:
• active students: €1,600 to be paid in two instalments: € 800 by 30 May 2021, € 800 by 30 June 2021
• “present” spectators: € 800 to be paid by 30 May 2021
• “remote” spectators: € 150 to be paid by 25 August 2021
For active students and “present” spectators, the fee includes board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and lodgings (arrival 5/09, departure 13/09) at Orsolina28, as indicated in the special form.
The fee does not include board and lodgings for 13 September.
HOW THE COURSE WORKS
The students accepted will take part in 9 days of lessons and concerts, from 5 to 13 September 2021:
• 5 September: 6 hours of analysis of the scheduled scores;
• 6-10 September: 6 hours of rehearsals followed by one hour of checking the rehearsals carried out;
• 8 September: Lectio Magistralis by Alessandro Solbiati;
• 11 September: 4 hours of rehearsals, 2 hours of dress rehearsal and the concert in Moncalvo, Orsolina28;
• 12 September: 2 hours of dress rehearsal and the concert in Grazzano Badoglio, Tenuta Santa Caterina;
• 13 September: 2 hours of dress rehearsal and two concerts in Milan.
The concerts will be part of the Rondò in Monferrato and Rondò 2021 seasons and will be conducted by different students.

The Orchestra Conducting Course 2021, organized by Divertimento Ensemble within the sphere of the educational activities of IDEA, the International Divertimento Ensemble Academy, takes place in residence at Orsolina28, an enchanting space dedicated to education and creation, in the heart of Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Divertimento Ensemble, its conductor, guest composer and the selected students will share every moment of the residence: the rehearsals and the lessons in the performing halls, where some concerts of the Course are held as part of the Rondò in Monferrato programme, the convivial meal times, from breakfast to dinner, with farm-to-table products served in the Orsolina28 restaurant; the leisure time in the open space areas, the greenhouse, the vegetable garden, the pool; the rest time in the Orsolina28 Glamping, a campsite with permanent geodetic dome tents*, or in Residence le Magnolie located in Penango, a little village 2 km from Orsolina28.
For transfers, bicycles and a shuttle service at the end of the day are available to the guests.
